San Felipe Mission is non-denominational Christian Church, apart of the Calvary Chapel Movement. We welcome believers of every Christian background as well as those of none—who may not yet know what to believe. Our focus is on trusting and obeying the inerrant Scriptures, the Word of God, as given in the Bible, with its focus on the Gospel of Jesus Christ as good news to be shared and the world around us to be served.
We are a community relying on the Holy Spirit to transform us more and more into the image and character of our Savior pointing others to Him and displaying God’s glory to the world. We believe there is strength for these tasks to be founded in being unified on essential biblical tenets along with the acceptance of diverse opinions on non-essentials.
La Misión San Felipe es una iglesia cristiana no denominacional, parte del Movimiento Capilla Calvario. Damos la bienvenida a creyentes de todos los orígenes cristianos, así como a aquellos que no lo son y que aún no saben qué creer. Nos centramos en confiar y obedecer las Escrituras inerrante, la Palabra de Dios, tal como se encuentra en la Biblia, con el Evangelio de Jesucristo como buena nueva para compartir y servir al mundo que nos rodea.

Our Beliefs | Creencias
THE SCRIPTURES
We believe that the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, fully inspired without error and the infallible rule of faith and practice. The Word of God is the foundation upon which the church operates and is the basis for which the church is governed. We believe that the Word of God supersedes any earthly law, rule, or regulation that is contrary to the Holy Scriptures and is the final authority for all matters of faith and conduct.
We believe, that while there may be several applications of any given passage of Scripture, there is but one true interpretation. The meaning of Scripture is to be found as one diligently applies the literal grammatical historical method of interpretation under the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit. It is the responsibility of believers to ascertain carefully the true intent and meaning of Scripture.

THE TRINITY
We believe that there is one living and true GOD, eternally existing in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; that this triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all things
(Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 44:8, 48:16; Matthew 28:19-20; John 10:30; Hebrews 1:3).
GOD THE FATHER
We believe in the person of God the Father, an infinite, eternal, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all those who come to Him through Jesus Christ
(Deuteronomy 33:27; Psalm 90:2, 102:27; John 3:16, 4:24; I Timothy 1:17; Titus 1:3).
GOD THE SON
We believe in the person of Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings, his substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and personal, visible return to earth

GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the person of the Holy Spirit, who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify and empower for ministry all who believe in Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide. Evidenced by a greater dynamic in the Christian’s life, enabling that person to be a bold and more effective witness. The supreme evidence of the Spirit-filled life is the fruit of the Spirit.

SPIRITUAL GIFTS
We believe that the Holy Spirit administers spiritual gifts to the church. The Holy Spirit glorifies neither Himself nor His gifts by ostentatious displays, but He does glorify Christ by implementing His work of redeeming the lost and building up believers in the most holy faith.
We recognize that there exist varying beliefs on whether certain Spiritual Gifts are in function today, therefore we do not affirm or deny any stance. However, we do believe that Scripture is clear that the Spiritual gifts has its proper place and time within the church and therefore are to be performed in a certain manner according to Scripture.
(John 16:13-14, I Corinthians 12-14, 2 Corinthians 3:18, 1 Timothy 3:15).
SIN AND SALVATION
We believe that all people are sinners by nature and choice, falling short of God’s standard and breaking His commandments – and therefore are under God’s righteous judgment. Yet, God saves and gives new life to all who come to Him in repentance and faith, trusting in the Person and work of Jesus Christ; that salvation is not of our own doing. At the cross, Jesus Christ died in our place as our substitute, absorbing God’s wrath that should have come upon us. Because Jesus died for the sins of the world the invitation to believe is offered to all and all are commanded to repent and believe.

THE CHURCH
We believe that all who place their faith in Christ Jesus are immediately placed by the Holy Spirit into one unified spiritual body, the church. The church then is a unique spiritual organism designed by Christ, made up of all born-again believers in this present age. The establishment and continuity of local churches is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament and that the members of the one spiritual body are directed to associate themselves together in local assemblies. The one supreme authority for the church is Christ, and the church leadership, gifts, order, discipline, and worship are all appointed in Scripture.

LEADERSHIP IN THE CHURCH
We believe in the pattern and principle of male leadership and responsibility in both the home and the church, according to the sacrificial example of Jesus. We believe this limit’s the role of pastoral leadership and doctrinal authority to qualified men. Scripture shows us that women have a special place within the Body of Christ and can lead to varying degrees. However, we believe the Bible is clear that God’s instruction for His church is that the position of elder/pastor and the preaching and teaching of God’s Word from the pulpit was given to men.
We believe that these leaders lead or rule as servants of Christ and have His authority in directing the church. The congregation is to submit to their leadership. The biblically designated officers serving under Christ and over the assembly are elders (also called bishops, pastors, and pastor teachers) and deacons, both of whom must meet biblical qualifications.

ORDINANCES
We believe that the Lord, Jesus Christ instituted two ordinances for the church: the full-immersion water baptism of believers and the Lord’s Supper.

HEAVEN AND HELL
We believe in a literal Heaven and a literal Hell and that all those who place their faith, hope and trust in Jesus Christ will spend eternity in Heaven with the Lord. Those who reject Jesus’ free gift of salvation will spend eternity separated from the Lord in Hell.

CHRIST’S SECOND COMING
We believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, which is His personal, visible return to Earth. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment and eternal blessing of the righteous and endless separation of the wicked. We recognize that there are differing views on eschatological and therefore do not affirm or deny those differing views, but rather hold firm in unity of the essential doctrine of Christ returning for His bride.

MARRIAGE & SEXUALITY
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.
God instituted monogamous marriage between one man and one woman as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. Therefore, we support and perform such marriages in accordance with the Bible consistent with the Old and New Testament. We believe that God has commanded that no sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.

SANCTITY OF LIFE
We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. That all human life is created by and from the hands of God and is therefore precious and deserving of life. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life.

LAS ESCRITURAS
Creemos que las escrituras del Antiguo y Nuevo Testamento son la Palabra de Dios, totalmente
inspirada sin error y la regla infalible de fe y práctica. La Palabra de Dios es el fundamento sobre
el cual opera la iglesia y es la base por la cual se gobierna la iglesia. Creemos que la Palabra de

DIOS EL PADRE

DIOS EL HIJO

DIOS EL ESPÍRITU SANTO
Creemos en la persona del Espíritu Santo, que vino del Padre y del Hijo para convencer al
mundo de pecado, justicia y juicio, y para regenerar, santificar y capacitar para el ministerio a
todos los que creen en Cristo. Creemos que el Espíritu Santo mora en cada creyente en
Jesucristo y que Él es un ayudante, maestro y guía permanente. Evidenciado por una mayor
dinámica en la vida del cristiano, capacitando a esa persona para ser un testigo audaz y más
eficaz. La evidencia suprema de la vida llena del Espíritu es el fruto del Espíritu.

DONES ESPIRITUALES
Creemos que el Espíritu Santo administra los dones espirituales a la iglesia. El Espíritu Santo no
se glorifica a sí mismo ni a sus dones con exhibiciones ostentosas, pero sí glorifica a Cristo al
implementar su obra de redimir a los perdidos y edificar a los creyentes en la santísima fe.
Reconocemos que existen diversas creencias sobre si ciertos Dones Espirituales están en
funcionamiento hoy en día, por lo tanto, no afirmamos ni negamos ninguna postura. Sin
embargo, creemos que las Escrituras son claras en cuanto a que los dones espirituales tienen su
lugar y tiempo apropiados dentro de la iglesia y, por lo tanto, deben realizarse de cierta manera
de acuerdo con las Escrituras.

PECADO Y SALVACIÓN
Creemos que todas las personas son pecadoras por naturaleza y elección, no alcanzan el
estándar de Dios y quebrantan Sus mandamientos, y por lo tanto están bajo el justo juicio de
Dios. Sin embargo, Dios salva y da nueva vida a todos los que vienen a Él en arrepentimiento y
fe, confiando en la Persona y obra de Jesucristo; que la salvación no es obra nuestra. En la cruz,
Jesucristo murió en nuestro lugar como nuestro sustituto, absorbiendo la ira de Dios que
debería haber caído sobre nosotros. Debido a que Jesús murió por los pecados del mundo, se

LA IGLESIA
Creemos que todos los que ponen su fe en Cristo Jesús son colocados inmediatamente por el
Espíritu Santo en un cuerpo espiritual unificado, la iglesia. La iglesia entonces es un organismo
espiritual único diseñado por Cristo, compuesto por todos los creyentes nacidos de nuevo en
esta era presente. El establecimiento y la continuidad de las iglesias locales se enseña y define
claramente en el Nuevo Testamento y que los miembros del único cuerpo espiritual están
dirigidos a asociarse en asambleas locales. La única autoridad suprema de la iglesia es Cristo, y
el liderazgo de la iglesia, los dones, el orden, la disciplina y la adoración están todos señalados
en las Escrituras.

LIDERAZGO MASCULINO EN LA IGLESIA
Creemos en el modelo y principio del liderazgo masculino y la responsabilidad tanto en el hogar
como en la iglesia, según el ejemplo sacrificial de Jesús. Creemos que este límite es el papel del
liderazgo pastoral y la autoridad doctrinal para hombres calificados. Las Escrituras nos
muestran que las mujeres tienen un lugar especial dentro del Cuerpo de Cristo y pueden liderar
en diversos grados. Sin embargo, creemos que la Biblia es clara en cuanto a que la instrucción
de Dios para Su iglesia es que la posición de anciano/pastor y la predicación y enseñanza de la
Palabra de Dios desde el púlpito fueron dadas a los hombres.
Creemos que estos líderes lideran o gobiernan como siervos de Cristo y tienen Su autoridad
para dirigir la iglesia. La congregación debe someterse a su liderazgo. Los oficiales bíblicamente
designados que sirven bajo Cristo y sobre la asamblea son los ancianos (también llamados
obispos, pastores y pastores maestros) y los diáconos, quienes deben cumplir con los requisitos
bíblicos.

ORDENANZAS
Creemos que el Señor Jesucristo instituyó dos ordenanzas para la iglesia: el bautismo en agua

EL CIELO Y EL INFIERNO
Creemos en un Cielo y un Infierno literales y que todos aquellos que ponen su fe, esperanza y
confianza en Jesucristo pasarán la eternidad en el Cielo con el Señor. Los que rechazan el regalo
gratuito de la salvación de Jesús pasarán la eternidad separados del Señor.

El REGRESO DE JESUCRISTO
Creemos en el visible y personal regreso de Jesucristo. Creemos en la resurrección del cuerpo, el juicio final y la bendición eterna de los justos y la separación sin fin de los impíos. Reconocemos que existen diferentes puntos de vista sobre lo escatológico y, por lo tanto, no afirmamos ni negamos esos puntos de vista diferentes, sino que nos mantenemos firmes en la unidad de la doctrina esencial de Cristo que regresa por Su novia.

MATRIMONIO Y SEXUALIDAD
Creemos que Dios maravillosa e inmutablemente crea a cada persona como hombre o mujer.
Estos dos géneros distintos y complementarios juntos reflejan la imagen y la naturaleza de Dios.
El rechazo del sexo biológico de uno es un rechazo de la imagen de Dios dentro de esa persona.
Dios instituyó el matrimonio monógamo entre un hombre y una mujer como el fundamento de
la familia y la estructura básica de la sociedad humana. Por lo tanto, apoyamos y realizamos
tales matrimonios de acuerdo con la Biblia en consonancia con el Antiguo y Nuevo Testamento.
Creemos que Dios ha ordenado que no se realice ninguna actividad sexual fuera del matrimonio
entre un hombre y una mujer.

SANTIDAD DE LA VIDA
Creemos que toda vida humana es sagrada y creada por Dios a Su imagen. La vida humana
tiene un valor inestimable en todas sus dimensiones, incluidos los bebés antes de nacer, los
ancianos, los discapacitados físicos o mentales y cualquier otra etapa o condición desde la
concepción hasta la muerte natural. Que toda vida humana es creada por y de las manos de
Dios y por lo tanto es preciosa y merecedora de vida. Por lo tanto, estamos llamados a
defender, proteger y valorar toda vida humana.
